We are really please to be included in Jamie Oliver’ s Great Britain program showing on Tuesday 22nd of November. Jamie and his team came down to the farm last year and filmed us for his new series. He is a really lovely guy and a big fan of Westcombe Cheddar!! He has also put us in his new Book Jamie’s Great Britain. Keep an eye out for us on Tuesday 22nd November Channel 4 at 9.00pm.
We had a great week selling lots of cheese and winning awards at the Royal Bath and West Show. Its a brilliant show right on our doorstep. We are so pleased that we won this prestigious award – we last won it in 1973!!
Our first proper blog! Since putting this website live, we have been rushing around building and putting the finishing touches to a brand new milking parlour and deluxe accommodation for our cows (pictures hopefully to follow). We are now free to blog to our hearts’ content! The first milking was a success apart from number 65 who took five grown men, two heaving at the back and three willing her into the parlour, as she put her two front legs forward and leant very firmly backwards. We only wish we had a photograph of this to show you! You’ll be pleased to know she was the fourth cow into the parlour the next morning!
